Meet Our Pastor

Rev. Jane has joyfully served as the pastor of Grace Church since January 2010. She is a member of the Presbytery’s Church Development Committee, and a member of the Synod of the Mid Atlantic’s Speer Fund Committee. She is also the president of the Martinsville/ Henry County Ministerial Association. Before relocating to Virginia, Jane served as the Associate for Leadership Development, Education and Youth for the Presbytery of Baltimore, serving the presbytery’s 74 congregations as a resource person, planning and facilitating workshops and seminars, providing leadership training for church leaders, managing the resource center, and serving as staff person for work groups and committees.

Before moving to the Baltimore area, Jane was the Interim Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Springfield Gardens, New York, and the Organizing Co-Pastor of Mosaic Community Church in Pittsburgh, PA, a new church development. She is the author of the 2009/2010 Network of Presbyterian Women in Leadership Joshua Bible Study, Living into God’s Design – Life Lessons for the Journey. She has also written for other Presbyterian publications and newsletters.

Jane received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from Seton Hill University in 1983 and a Master of Divinity degree from The University of Dubuque Theological Seminary in 1999, where she received the Baird Prize for Preaching. Jane loves music, singing, photography, flower gardening and nature walks. She was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and is married to the Rev. Ronald N. Johnson, who is the pastor of the Holbrook Street Presbyterian Church in Danville, VA. Jane and Ron have three sons.
